The Franschhoek event takes place at the renowned Hey Joe distillery just a few kilometres away from the town. This quaint venue is perfect for the first Western Cape challenge with brand new trails, a picture-perfect mountainscape backdrop and loads of cold brews waiting at the finish after a tough day out on the bike.
Pursuit Challenge is a series of timed challenges throughout the world, we set a date for each course that challengers can take part in. Each challenger decides their own starting time, pace and strategy. A leaderboard is hosted on our website with prize money and prizes up for grabs in each winner’s nominated category.
The timing works like all the other Pursuit Challenge races:

More detail about the route:
The routes in the Western Cape are known to challenge your endurance and “vasbyt” abilities. Pursuit Challenge #4 will take place in the heart of the Winelands in Franschhoek at Hey Joe brewery with an exciting 50km trail. The routes will head out to the banks of the Bergrivier Dam, and will include the infamous Matoppie mast climb, Snakebite Alley, see-saw and Wolwekloof singletracks. This is going to be a slower route with all the singletracks, climbs and scenery! Riders should plan on time and not distance, and take ample nutrition and hydration along.
GPS files are available for download to all participants the week of the event.
