Wittenberg Hostel
Our Hostel is situated in the most beautiful area 17km outside Piet Retief. We are part of a small German, Christian based community with the Wittenberg School and the Wittenberg Congregation next door. Our hostel is a warm and inviting place, a home away from home for children ages 7-13. We are a small hostel with about 20 children. We have a lovely big garden with lots of space for kids to run and play. The hostel has 4 private living quarters for the Hostel Parent and teachers. There are 4 girls’ rooms and 5 boy’s rooms all of the rooms are spacious and big enough to host 5/6 beds. There are 3 spacious bathrooms and a big hall where we eat, do homework and entertain. There is a big kitchen that caters for the kids and staff morning, afternoons and evenings. All meals are provided from Mondays to Fridays. The kids stay at the hostel during the week and go home on the weekends. The hostel is sometimes used on weekends and holidays for functions, weddings or sleeping accommodation.
We have supervised study on a daily bases. We love to have organized and supervised outings, every now and then. We also incorporate music and faith into our daily routine. We aim to teach children good morals and social skills. We do this all with love and care. They become more independent and learn from each other. There is a warm lively, modern upbeat vibe amongst everyone who stays here. We would love to keep this hostel going for many years to come.
Donations are truly appreciated and much needed. All funds received are applied towards maintenance, good healthy produce and active entertainment for the children. Every cent is truly appreciated. God bless all who contribute towards the future of our hostel.
