PRIZE GIVING

Prize giving will commence at 08:00 for the 10km and at

09:00 for the 21km, or as soon as the results are available.

PARKING

Ample parking at Sunnypark Shopping Centre and

Rietondale Park (walking distance to race venue) as well as

adjacent streets from the starting point. Arrive early

to avoid late start and disappointment!

RACE INFO

• The 10 and 21 km will start at 06:00
• The 5 km fun run/walk will start at 06:15
• Collectable and special medal to all finishers
• Distance markers every 1 km
• Water points at ± every 3 km
• Food and drinks stalls available
• Medical support available

RULES

• The race will take place under the rules of ASA, AGN and  IAAF
• All participants enter at their own risk and by their entry indemnify the organisers and sponsors of any liability or claims.
• All participants in the 10 and 21 km must wear a valid 2019 licence number on the front and back of their running tops during the race. Unlicensed participants must buy a temporary licence (R40). Race numbers must be worn on the front of the running top, but must not cover the logo of the sponsor on the licence.
• Marshals and traffic officials must be obeyed at all times.
• No seconding will be permitted.
• Minimum age of 14 years on race day for the 10 km and 16 years for the 21 km.
• Category winners must provide proof of age to qualify for prizes (ID or other valid documentation)
• Athletes competing for prizes must wear official age category tags on the front and back of their running tops.
• Walkers competing for prize money must wear an official ‘W’ on the front and back of running top.
• Foreign athletes must observe IAAF rule 4 paragraph 2.
• No pets allowed
• Entry fees cannot be refunded, returned, cancelled or exchanged on account of the weather or any unforeseen circumstances beyond the control of the event organisers.

IT’S TOM JENKINS: YOU MUST EXPERIENCE IT!

The 2019 Tom Jenkins will see the introduction of a single lap 21.1 km route. However, the notorious climb up Meintjieskop remains. The 800m hill was constructed by the Italian Prisoners Of War (POW) during World War 2. The race ends with an easy down run/walk for both 10 km and 21.1 km participants.

Floating trophies for the largest, fastest and jolliest buses make this a race to show pride in your club and have fun!
