Route Description:

5km - Easy and enjoyable route for all ages.

The family 5km MTB kicks off at 08:00 am

This route is easy and takes you on a well marked two track route through the bush, the grasslands and past the river.  There are no technical obstacles and hardly any thick sand. The route is well know for wildebeest, impala and kudu.  So keep your eyes open

25km

The first part of the route is a two track path that goes through a Mopani Tree bush.  You continue past the vulture restaurant and pass through the natural dried up dam.  Various animals enjoy this spot including the Zebra and Giraffe.   After the dried up dam you reach your first waterpoint (+\- 12 km from start) Continuing through the bushveld passing the long grass lands you reach the river crossing. The river is shallow and you cross on rocks, but should you wish the alternative is to cross on the dam wall.  After a few more kilometres on the well marked route through the bush you will reach the second waterpoint.  You will then enjoy the easy ride around the mountain until you cross the river again and continue to the finish line.  This route has many wild species and various different sights to see.  Its fun, easy and exiting.  ENTER NOW

50km and 100km

The 50km is done twice to reach the 100 km mark.  We suggest this distance for the more advance riders.

This route takes you on an exiting start over the foot of the mountain.  You continue on a rock path down the hill before you enter the well marked bush road.  You will also pass the Mopani Bush where the Eland is usually spotted.  This route include two track sand roads, rock/mountain crossing up and down and still give you ample of opportunity to enjoy the wild life of the bushveld.  There are a few technical areas but all the obstacles are clearly marked.  This is a safe and enjoyable challenge.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Due to continued damage to our temp boards and theft of riders not handing in their race boards back to our timing team.

We had to make the difficult decision of implementing a new system where you can buy your very own permanent race number, having to discontinue our loss of temporary boards for on the day.

This one you can use time and time again and is assigned to your name, meaning that it is yours and you register for the race online, having no need to collect your number from registration queue, you sign up online and show up at the start line for the race.

Your brand new permanent board will cost you R50, alternatively can you rent one of the old raceboards from us for R20.

This is in line with other time keeping companies, it will shorten the registration queues for repeated riders, making it more convenient and make the number collection process faster.
