More than just a trail race, Kway Maxirace Cape Winelands takes you on a journey, an adventure of self-discovery amongst exquisite & unique landscapes.
Kway Maxirace has been launched in 2011 in France in Annecy. The race quickly became successful due to their amazing trails with incredible views on the exquisite Annecy lake. It is now a mythical race that welcomes more than 9000 runners each year during the last Week-End of May. This success has convinced the organizers to create Maxirace World which is a call to travel and explore. Maxirace World now has 6 races among 6 wonderful countries for trail running: France, Sicily, Ecuador, China, Madeira and of course South Africa
Kway Maxirace Cape Winelands is bringing the internationally recognised brand of Maxirace to the African continent with a festival of trail running that will take place in the iconic Cape Winelands area between Franschhoek and Stellenbosch on the 1 – 3 October 2021. Kway Maxirace is doing its best to be an event that is giving back. Our core values are to be a sustainable race which involves and contributes to the local communities and the environment and to do that we have made a partnership with the charity Edunova. Another example are the Kway Maxi medals & Kway Maxi marshalls, we choose to support our local Kylemore (near Stellenbosch) community as much as possible.
