Iron Throne Trail park will play host for this amazing event, The Magalies Rock!
What happens when you tell someone like our own local boy, Thomas van Thonder, OCR Red Bull athlete to dream out routes and show the world what trails he runs? He gives you the best of the best that the Magalies mountains have to offer. Amazing views and sights, ridge line runs, proper climbs, descends on a National downhill track, amazing forest sections and much more.
We also want to announce something very special! Something really unique to our event and venue! ATTENTION ALL 5km RUNNERS AND ADVENTURERS
This will be a run like no other...what is waiting...?
1. Cable way ride to the top of the mountain...yes! The 5km starts right at the top, it's a 80% downhill run!
2. The 5km runners will see ALL the great sights, spots and trails!
3. Perfect adventure for the whole family! Run, hike, stop, look, just enjoy the adventure!
4. The cable way ride is only for the 5km runners.
The 10km is a perfect route for the intermediate - advance trail runner!
The 21km will challenge everyone, BIG climbs, technical descends, rocks and fast open ridge line running with spectacular view. - Route profile coming soon
We will more than enough waterpoints, medics, sweepers and media coverage to make sure this event runs super smooth!
Iron Throne Family Market will be the host venue making sure there is more than enough to eat and drink. Prize Giving and all the post-event talk will take place at this venue.
BRING THE WHOLE FAMILY!
We know the little ones and want to come with and we have good news. With the Iron Throne Wild life sanctuary on the same venue kids can go for tours to see lions, snakes, leopards, cheetahs, tigers, spiders and much more. So they won't get bored.
The start line and all of this activities are right next to each other!
We are also keeping an close eye on the Covid-19 changes and updates. Ekokleen will provide us with everything to keep us safe!
