BHRC MTB & ECO WEEKEND

Limited entries for the MTB experience on Saturday, 2 October.  Eight MTB starting points offer self-guided rides on specially marked routes with varying distances and difficulty levels.  Trails run across rolling hillsides, jeep tracks through vineyards, and single tracks through Renosterveld with magnificent views.

Entry fees are R230 - R250 and include a bottle of wine and a commemorative keyring.  Under 18’s entries is R150.  Limited entries available, so book early to avoid disappointment!

TAKE NOTE: The BHRC MTB trails will be CLOSED for day and annual permit holders on Saturday, 2 October and only open to event entrants.  Routes will run as normal from Sunday 3 October with an annual or day permit required.

BELLEVUE WINE ESTATE

This starting point offers an easy family friendly ride mostly on jeep tracks and vineyard trails with a 345 meter ascent. Registration will be at 08h00 with rides starting at 09h00.  Entries limited to 100. Book for breakfast and lunch at [email protected] or 021-865 2054.  Live entertainment, boerewors rolls and loads of lucky draw prizes up for grabs. Spacious outdoor play and seating area makes this the ideal linger longer option.  Lucky draws include pizza and wine pairing vouchers, burger slider and wine pairing vouchers, R300 restaurant voucher six Sauvignon Blanc twin packs.

DEVONVALE GOLF & WINE ESTATE


Located just 5 minutes outside the picturesque Stellenbosch, Devonvale Golf & Wine Estate is surrounded by rolling vineyards and majestic mountains. Here you will find a true jewel nestled in the Bottelary Valley, in the heart of the Cape Winelands.  Renowned golf course, upmarket accommodation, restaurant and function facilities.  The 25km route will be limited to 100 riders with registration at 07h30 and start from 08h30.  Enjoy a scenic ride through the picturesque Devon Valley through vineyards and single tracks around farm dams and forests.  Loads of fun activities planned for the day with a festival family friendly atmosphere.  Everything from the fire: Braai full plate at R155, Steak roll & salad at R55, Vegetarian plate at R130.  Mobile coffee unit, wine tastings and beer on tap. FORT SIMON WINE ESTATE

Fort Simon Wine Estate, nestled in the Bottelary Hills and conveniently situated close to the northern suburbs of Cape Town, offer a spectacular landscape for cultivating excellent grapes and is perfectly suited for exciting MTB trails. The 36km ride on Saturday, 2 October includes newly launched single track and takes you on a challenging climb up the Bottelary Hills - so be prepared!  Registration from 07h00 with ride starting at 08h00.  Entries limited to 50.  Lucky draw prizes you an offer includes picnics for two + a bottle of wine to enjoy. JORDAN WINE ESTATE
Jordan Wine Estate is a picturesque estate located at the top of the Stellenbosch Kloof Road.  Explore the Jordan vineyards on the MTB Bottelary Hill tracks that snake up through the estate.  Experience the unique views of the False and Table Bays from the top of the hill, before making the thrilling ride down back to The Cellar Door for a well-earned breakfast, lunch, wine tasting or picnic!  Registration for the 20km ride, which includes the new single track built by Conrad Stoltz starts from 07h00 with ride starting at 08h00.  Entries limited to 100.  The male and female winners of the race will win a case of Jordan wine.  Pre-order boerewors rolls and vegetable wraps.  Booking essential for other activities on the estate:

Zevenwacht Wine Estate, situated on the beautiful Stellenbosch Wine Route is a modern wine farm with a 300-year history.  Indulge your senses with award winning wines, tastings & pairings. A la carte restaurant in the historic Manor House, picnics and braai baskets to enjoy on the lawns around the dam. Children’s play park. 4-star accommodation.  The 18km MTB ride from Zevenwacht offers a maximum single track experience with spectacular views. Entries limited to 100.  Registration from 07h00 with riders welcome to venture out between 07h30 and 09h00.  Lucky draw includes a mixed case of Zevenwacht wines. Wine tasting pairings and a selection of platters on offer.  Picnics need to be booked in advance.
