First-time riders have been automatically allocated to the last batch in each distance. Please start in the batch you are allocated in to prevent disqualification. The start line will be monitored electronically.

RACE CATEGORIES WILL START IN BATCHES AS FOLLOWS:

f a rider feels that they were seeded incorrectly or need to change anything (distance or substitutions), requests may be sent to [email protected], together with relevant website result proof by means of a screenshot of the time-keeping company involved at the particular event referenced. Only the top three results will be deemed valid, and none older than 6 months. Riders wishing to change seedings on Friday can also meet the CSA commissaire on Saturday morning at registration to discuss. Please make a note with time-keepers if you are registering Friday.

CSA DAY LICENCE
DBX2022 is a CSA (Cycle South Africa) sanctioned mountain-biking event. If you are not a member of CSA and DO NOT have a membership licence, please purchase a day-license at R50 per person directly on the Entry Ninja platform when you purchase your entry.

DURING THE RACE
Please be considerate to the event organisers and your fellow riders at all times. Stay vigilant on the tracks, and look out for any animals that might cross your way. Let’s leave these spaces as beautiful as we found them. Be lekker.

FINISHERS
Once you cross the finish line, make your way over to receive your finisher's glass and a medal. Get your MTB board clipped after you finish, and hand it in to receive your free DB finisher's drink. Post-race treatments and bike washes will be available at the finish - info below. The DB Tasteroom in Darling will not be taking bookings for DBX Race Day and will seat tables on a first-come-first-serve basis. There will also be food stalls and a self-service bar outside for riders to enjoy some lunch and a beer after an intense race!

RULES & REGULATIONS:

? All riders must complete an indemnity form ahead of the race either by downloading the form HERE or completing the online Entry Ninja form which will be updated on our event pages and distributed to riders as well.
⛑ Riders have to wear helmets.
? Masks aren’t mandatory but can be worn at riders’ own discretion.
⬅️ Keep to the left of the route at all times and note that in some areas you may need to pass cyclists on the same road.
? Please don't litter during the race, these are private farms that we work extremely hard to access on your behalf.
? Be courteous to fellow riders and any farmers or farm workers you meet en route.
? Please note that no refunds are available on 22nd May 2022.
? The weather is unpredictable in May in the Western Cape - come prepared as though it will rain.
? There will be sufficient water points marked en route. However, it is also recommended that riders pack their own bottles, energy bars, etc. (especially for the 60 and 80km routes).

IMPORTANT ROUTE INFORMATION:

? General route markers + directional arrows will be red on a whiteboard.
↔️ Split points will have category names + colour arrows that match your MTB boards' colour stickers. Marshals will be on hand to point out route markings.
? Please note that certain parts of the route will not be bush cut due to wildflower restrictions!
? Certain routes travel through private wildlife estates with some game (e.g. springbok, eland - no big cats!), so please stay alert and aware. The farms and estates will not be held liable in case of any collisions or injuries.
? Certain routes feature a dismount - there will be signage to warn riders beforehand.
? Due to E-bike regulations stipulated by CSA no spare batteries are allowed

SAVE THE EMERGENCY NUMBER:

☎️ 082 442 4988 (George Strobel) ☎️

PLEASE NOTE: If there is rain ahead of the race, we will not be able to fix routes beyond Wednesday 25/05. If your route has water damage, please cycle carefully, and dismount and push if you feel unsafe at any stage.

FINISH IN STYLE:

?‍♂️ Riders can pre-book sport massages, strapping/taping, EMS machine treatments, ice machine treatments and foam rolling at the finish. Cash or card payments on the day.
? There will be a bike wash at an additional R30 per bike after the race. Cash or card payments on the day.
