Orca proudly presents the second Harbour2Harbour swim POWERED BY KFC, taking place in Gordons Bay, a picturesque coastal village, nestled at the foot of the Hottentots Holland Mountains and the False Bay Coast. There will be a choice of 3 events; a 1.6km, 3km, and a 4x 400m relay swim. The registration will take place at the Krystal Beach Hotel at Harbour Island from 07:00am.
The Harbour2Harbour 1.6km swim starts at 09:00am at the Gordon's Bay Harbour and is a point-to-point swim finishing at the Harbour Island slipway. You need to make your own way from Harbour Island to Gordons Bay Harbour in time for race briefing. All swimmers are to be assembled at the Gordon's Bay Harbour by 08:30am with race briefing at 08:45am. Bags will be provided for your clothing. Please ensure that the bag is tagged with your race number so that when you arrive at Harbour Island you are able to identify & collect it. The swim will begin in the Gordon's Bay Harbour in line with the Orca buoys. The route is out of the Gordon's Bay Harbour and follows a direct route across to Harbour Island and finishes at the slipway.
The Harbour2Harbour 3km swim starts at 09:00am from Harbour Island AT THE SLIPWAY. All swimmers are to be ready at 08:30am with race briefing at 08:45am. The swim starts in the water in line with the Orca buoys out through the Harbour mouth towards Gordon's Bay Harbour and continues in a clockwise direction back to Harbour Island. The finish is at the slipway.
4x 400m Relay
The Harbour Island canal relay starts at 11:30am in front of the Krystal Beach hotel on the water side. Each team will consist of 4 competitors each completing one lap of 400 meters. The teams will assemble on the deck, with the team member who is swimming next waiting on the jetty to take over from the swimmer. The swim is in a clockwise direction around the Island. The teams must make up their own names, eg. Racing snakes, etc.
Please note: We will be providing an event swim cap which is compulsory to wear.
Can I swim in my wetsuit?
Can I enter the solo swim and the relay event?
Yes! Should you wish to enter a solo swim and the relay event you can do so, you will need to complete two registrations and can pay for both events after you registered for the second event.
How do I register my team?
You will need to nominate a team captain to register all 4 swimmers. All swimmers will need to have registered their own profile in Entry Ninja as we need all their medical details such as Medical Aid, Emergency Contact Person, Blood Type, Allergies etc.
The team captain will then select them by clicking on the green button, labelled Add another person, then searching (by name, email or ID number) for each team member.
The team member's details will be listed with a blue + sign below the search bar.
Select the team member (it will then turn grey), scroll down and then click ADD.
Repeat until all four spots are filled, then click NEXT.
On the new page click the green Create a new team button.
Give the team a name and select the 4 members of the team, then click Next.
On the CLASS page, select the HARBOUR2HARBOUR 4x400m Relay option, then click Next.
Confirm the Start Time on the next page, then click Next.
Select the Merchandise you might want to include with your entry, then click Next.
Complete the Questionnaire for each swimmer, then click Next.
You can then complete the registration.
The team captain will be charged for all 4 swimmers.
I don't have medical aid, can I still enter?
Yes! Insert N/A in the medical aid box.
This event supports team entries for certain classes, but teams must consist of 4 participants per team.
