Upper Highway Trail Marathon
UHTM is an iconic trail marathon held in the Upper Highway of Durban, South Africa linking many of the area's amazing trails and conservancies. Proceeds raised are donated to the conservancies to help sustain, support and showcase the natural beauty of the area.

ABOUT THE RACE
What is included in the race entry:
- Mapped (gpx) and marked routes
- Goodie bag
- Water tables on each route
- Sweepers on each route
- Prizes for top 3 male and female runners per event
- Emergency response and support
- Finisher's gifts for each event
Race Registration:
Friday 8th December 2023 17:00-19:30 (17km & 42km)
Saturday 9th December 2023 04:30-05:15 (42km) & 05:15-5:45 (17km)
Entry fees: 17km R290 & 42km R890
NOTE:
The total number of entries for both races is limited to 500 entries and entries will close if this entry cap is reached, even if it occurs before the entry closing date.
A minimum age limit of 18 years old has been set on entries to the 42km race.
NB: race entries must be paid within 30 days to avoid being automatically removed.
Race Routes:
17km Start at Camp Orchards, go through Everton Conservancy, cover a short road section in Gillitts to get to Morewood MTB Park, do a loop in Morewood MTB Park, then back to Everton Conservancy with a loop into Krantzkloof Nature Reserve and then back to finish at Camp Orchards.A mixture of mainly single track trail and mountain bike track through grasslands and forests, with some farm road and short sections of connecting tar road. | 42km Start at Camp Orchards, go through Everton Conservancy, cover a short road section in Gillitts to get to Morewood MTB Park, do a loop in Morewood MTB Park, then back to Everton Conservancy with a loop down the valley towards the Krantzkloof Nature Reserve boundary and then back to finish at Camp Orchards.Mainly single track trail and mountain bike track through forests and grasslands, with sections of connecting tar road, including stream crossings and some steep ascents & descents over some technical terrain. |

| Route information | FROM PIETERMARITZBURG: Take N3 to Durban. Take M13 to Hillcrest/Durban at exit 35. Take exit 33 to Shongweni, Assagay, Hillcrest (West). At the off-ramp traffic lights, turn left onto Kassier Road. At T-junction traffic lights, turn right onto Old Main Road (R103) towards Hillcrest. At traffic lights in Hillcrest CBD, turn left onto Inanda Road (M33). After approximately 4km, Camp Orchards is on the right hand side of the road. FROM DURBAN: Take N3 to Pietermaritzburg. Take M13 to Pinetown, Pietermaritzburg at exit 17. Take exit 28 to Old Main Road, Hillcrest (East). At the off-ramp traffic lights, turn right to Hillcrest. At traffic lights in Hillcrest CBD, turn right onto Inanda Road (M33). After approximately 4km, Camp Orchards is on the right hand side of the road. |
