Greyton Brew Run - 23 August, 2025
6km | 13km | 21km
Run the sublime Greyton Nature Reserve trails with 100% of proceeds going to the Greyton House Bursary Fund in support of education.
21km Half Marathon | 900m Elevation
This year we are sticking to a clockwise direction, with a taste of the iconic Greyton Mountain Marathon included.
The first 7km offers an easy-going, fast warm-up with a mix of trail and jeep track. Then the real fun begins. Your first climb takes you up Hardepeer Kloof, a bit of a scramble, followed by a fast, runnable downhill section. Some boulder-hopping and a river crossing over the Gobos River lead you into your second climb, a straight 300m ascent over 2km up Maermans Kloof. A true test of endurance!
A flowing, runnable descent takes you to the waterpoint at 13km. From there, it’s a scenic finish down Greyton’s beautiful MTB trails, with a shortcut through the village bringing you into the town square and across the finish line.
13km | 450m Elevation
A classic combo of gritty nature reserve trails and smooth mountain bike paths offers a great balance and variety. A fast, flat 2km start takes you into the Nature Reserve, followed by a pure, undulating trail that leads to your main climb of the day, reaching the waterpoint at 6km. From there, enjoy sweeping downhills and a final climb through the village before crossing the finish line at the town square.
6km | 100m Elevation
Keeping the route similar to last year, we take you on a quick circuit around the village with a great mix of open road, jeep track and fun single track. All welcome!
Included in your entry:
Jump-start your race with a complimentary coffee. Along the routes, you’ll find three water points stocked with iced tea, energy drinks, Coke, water, treats and loads of banana bread! A free pint of beer awaits at the finish. Nothing could be better!
Parking:
Pass Greyton House Village School (on your left) as you enter Greyton and park at the Old Moravian Hall next door to the yellow library. Parking attendants will keep an eye on your car for the day.

Finding Greyton:
You’ll find this charming dorpie 140 km from Cape Town along the N2, then 32 km from the turnoff just before Caledon. Watch out for the horses between Genadendal and Greyton as the speed limit is 80 km/h for good reason. Allow 2 hours of travel time from Cape Town in normal traffic conditions.
