The Majestic 2025 Klipheuwel Off-Road Duathlon!
Continuing the Triathlon X Series in 2025, the Klipheuwel Off-Road Duathlon returns as the second thrilling event in our three-part series. This year, we’re bringing the action to the beloved De Kleine Loerie venue—known for its welcoming atmosphere and beautiful setting—where athletes and their families can soak up a festival vibe filled with delicious food, refreshing drinks, and live entertainment throughout the day.

This off-road duathlon invites athletes of all levels to experience the best Klipheuwel has to offer:

Run 1: The day begins with a scenic run, weaving through farm paths and peaceful pastures and along the riverbanks of the Klein Brak River.
Transition 1 (T1): Athletes will arrive at the race village to switch into bike mode.
Bike: From T1, the bike leg heads out onto the majestic farmland trails, with panoramic views of the ocean and iconic Garden Route mountains. The route features jeep track and singletrack sections.
Transition 2 (T2): Athletes return to the race village to begin the final run.
Run 2: The last leg of the duathlon heads back along the farm tracks toward the river before looping to the finish at De Kleine Loerie.

At the finish line, participants will be welcomed with a Series medal and the festive atmosphere of cheering spectators, food, drinks, and live entertainment.

The festival will continue into the afternoon, offering plenty of activities for families to enjoy while the prize giving and lucky draw take place.

2025 EVENTS TO ENTER:
All race distances offer relay team options, allowing 2 or 3 athletes to compete together as a team.

Note:
RUNNING will be along the Moordkuilriver for the Standard distance only, and for the other distances it will be along the surrounding farmland.
CYCLING will be on gravel road, jeep track, and small sections of single track.
NO SWIM LEG for this duathlon.

Relay Teams:
A duathlon relay team consists of two or three members, with each participant completing one or two segments of the race. Teams can include male, female, or mixed-gender participants. The relay follows the same course as the solo competitors, with transitions between team members occurring in the designated transition zone.

ALL RELAY TEAM MEMBERS REQUIRE A TSA LICENCE. 

Relay options are available for all distances in the Klipheuwel Duathlon X. Parents and children teams can participate in the distance dictated by the age of the youngest team member.
During registration on Entry Ninja, select your desired race distance name followed by the "Team" option, and add your teammates during the online registration process. The displayed price is per participant.

Rules:

• Runners must wear race numbers visible at all times.
• Cyclists must wear cycling helmets.
• Cyclists take note: There are no road closures, obey all traffic rules and take care of normal road traffic.
• TSA Sanctioned Event - if the athlete is not in possession of a valid TSA license, they need to buy a TSA Temp License (R134 - Standard / R55 - Sprint//Super Sprint)

• Triathlon Licences: All athletes must either have an annual TSA licence or purchase a Temporary TSA DAY Licence, which will be valid for the event only.

We would suggest buying an annual Triathlon SA licence from TSA if you plan to do multiple race events in 2025. It is cheaper and easier for each event. Costs are: R381 for seniors and R330 for Juniors. You can buy your annual licence here: https://triathlonsa.co.za/registration/

Online entry portal closes on Wednesday before each event at midnight.
Challenge Du / Teams are draft legal. The other distances are draft-legal.
