Welcome to "Hovering Hermanus", a weekend of hiking adventures consisting of 5 Day hikes on the consecutive days:

DAY 3 Kleinbergie & De Bos Dam 17km

DAY 4 5Peaks Circuit: Platberg, Aasvoëlkop, Mt Pustulata, Mt Cyclopia, Mosselberg 16km

DAY 5 Lemoenkop & Fernkloof Waterfall 5km

• Book your own accommodation (self catering) for a long weekend (24 September to 28 September) at one of the many options Hermanus has to offer

DAY 1 Wednesday 24/9: Meet&Greet!

5km Intro Hike: Hermanus Cliff Path

Lets loosen the legs to start off the adventures with a short hike on infamous Cliff path with the most beautiful views over the marine area and coast of Hermanus!

15h45 Meet-up at the small amphitheatre at the playground in Marine Drive Hermanus

16h00 Hike Starts

DAY 2 Thursday 25/9: Mosselrivier Dam Trail 12km, 340m elevation, 3,5hours

A beautiful route in the Fernkloof Nature Reserve with plenty of bird life, fynbos and views overlooking the ocean.

7h45 Meet at the parking area up in Reservoir Rd

8am Hike starts

DAY 3 Friday 26/9: Kleinbergie 327m, De Bos Dam, 17km Circuit - 270m elevation, 5hours

The trail takes us past vineyards and orchards, through spectacular fynbos with specracular views of the valley and town.

6h45: Meet at Hemel en Aarde 

7am Hike starts

DAY 4 Saturday 27/9: 5Peaks Circuit - Platberg 748m, Aasvoëlkop 824m, Mt Pustulata 668m, Mt Cyclopia, Mosselberg 341m, 16km - 930m total elevation, 6hours

Into the Kleinrivier Mountains via Adder ladder, this route offers an abundance of fynbos, coastal vegetation and panoramic views! Feel accomplished as we conquer 5 peaks in one day.

7am Hike starts

DAY 5 Sunday 28/9: Lemoenkop 207m & Fernkloof Waterfall 5km, 226m elevation, 2hours

Expect to see a few of the various wildlife and pristine fynbos to be found in the area. Take a walk up Lemoenkop on our way to the waterfall before we turn around to complete this beautiful circular route back to the start.

Suitable lightweight hydration-/backpack, sunscreen, hat, proper trail shoes, snacks, enough water. Lightweight windproof jacket/fleece, beanie and gloves depending the weather. A waterproof jacket might be a handy kit item. Always dress in layers.
