Ronde van Bain’s is the brand-new, third instalment of the renowned Ronde Series — and it’s going to be a beauty.
Get ready for 120 km of pure gravel goodness, capped off with a spectacular finish over the legendary Bain’s Kloof Pass.
Starting at the foothills of Bain’s Kloof, the route takes riders on a magical loop through Hermon and Tulbagh, showcasing some of the Western Cape’s finest gravel.
Ronde van Bain’s is also a proud part of the all-new Cape Gravel Cup and is the Western Cape Gravel Champs.

* Batches are self-seeding, but if you wish to participate in the Western Cape Gravel Champs, you must start in the Racing batches. If you start in the Main Batch you will not be eligible for the Championship podiums.
Cut offs:
- 1:30pm at the last water point
- 4pm at the finish
Waterpoints:
- There will be 2 waterpoints: @ approx. 40km and @ approx. 80kms
- Outside support / Feeding is allowed for all riders at the designated feeding zone only.
- The designated feeding zone will be located 50m after WP2 at 80km, between the designated flags
Number Collection:
- Friday 20th 12h00 – 14h00 at Sportsmans Warehouse Tygervalley – Sportica Crescent
- Sunday 22nd 06h30 onwards at the Start/Finish venue at Café La Vita; R301 Wellington

Podiums:
Western Cape Gravel Championship placing will be awarded as follows:
1st, 2nd & 3rd Male & Female across all categories
- Senior (19-29) including all Elite Riders
- Any rider who holds an Elite Racing License, can only participate in the Elite/Senior Category
- Sub Veteran 30-39
- Veteran 40-49
- Master 50-59
- Grand Master 60+
Prize-giving will take place as close to 12:00 as possible
Please note:
Standard CSA rules apply, however, please note in particular:
- If you wish to race for podium, you must start in a racing batch.
- You will compete as per your CSA racing license, i.e. If you are 45yrs old but ride under an Elite Racing license, you are only eligible for the Seniors podium, and not the Vets podium.
- There must be a minimum of 3 riders in your age category in order for a podium to be awarded.
- You are not eligible to compete for Champs riding under a Day License To be a National or Provincial Champion a rider must be a citizen or permanent resident of South Africa (or the respective Province for Provincial events). Non-citizens/residents may compete in a National or Provincial Championship race and be eligible for cash or merchandise awards but are not eligible to become the National or Provincial Champion or receive Cycling South Africa championship medals.
- The minimum age for this event is 19yrs (i.e. age 19 at 31 December 2026)
