THE EVENT

Expedition Tevrede is a unique team-based outdoor endurance event hosted at the scenic Weltevreden Game Lodge just outside Bloemfontein.

This event combines navigation, teamwork and adventure, where teams of two must work together to navigate through the terrain and locate checkpoints along the route.

Participants will explore the beautiful Free State landscape including:

• Rolling koppies
• Flowing single track
• River sections
• Open plains
• Wildlife roaming freely

This is more than a race — it's a true outdoor expedition.

TEAM FORMAT

All disciplines are completed in teams of two.

Teams must:

• Start together
• Navigate together
• Find checkpoints together
• Finish together

Strategy, navigation and teamwork will play a key role in reaching the finish line.

🏁 RACE OPTIONS

Participants can choose between three expedition challenges.

🏃 TRAIL EXPEDITION

Distance: 21km

A scenic trail run across koppies, single tracks and flowing trails.

Teams will need to navigate between checkpoints placed along the course while enjoying the stunning Weltevreden terrain.

Expect a mixture of fast runnable sections and technical trail.

🚵 BIKE EXPEDITION

Distance: 75km

A rewarding mountain bike expedition through the spectacular Free State landscape.

Teams will navigate between checkpoints using district roads, jeep track and single track sections while covering approximately 75km of terrain.

🧭 FULL EXPEDITION – ADVENTURE RACE

Distance: ±60km

The ultimate challenge of Expedition Tevrede.

Teams will travel through the Weltevreden terrain while completing multiple disciplines including:

🚵 Mountain Biking
🏃 Trekking / Trail Running
🚣 Kayaking
🎯 Special Tasks

Teams will navigate between checkpoints using maps and strategy while completing different sections of the course.

The Adventure Race will test endurance, teamwork, navigation and problem solving.

🌿 THE VENUE

Weltevreden Game Lodge provides the perfect playground for an expedition-style race.

Participants can expect:

• Scenic koppies and views
• Technical trails
• River crossings
• Wildlife sightings
• Authentic Free State adventure terrain

Located just 20km outside Bloemfontein, the venue offers a remote adventure atmosphere while still being easily accessible.
