AURORA OM DIE BERG. This is an annual cycling event that is hosted by NG Gemeente Aurora. There are 4 cycling routes, starting with a fun 10km, an intermediate 20km, an exciting and adventurous 55km MTB and a 80km gravel route. The 55km route will take you through farm routes and around the Aurora mountain, back to town. This route is a challenge for many, but if you are able to enjoy the scenery along the way, you will enjoy the flowers in full bloom, on a single track over the mountain. This route is only open for this event, so make sure not to miss out. The start and finish is at Aurora Skou Ground, where there will be a small town basaar with food, drinks, Sandveld hospitality that will keep you and your family entertained.

Age: Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult for the 55km and 80km route, children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult in the 20km and children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult in the 10km routes.

GRAVEL ROUTES:

80km DIE LANG PAD

Die Lang Pad is a 80km gravel route, that will take you around the mountain, through Kapteinskloof.  It starts and ends in Aurora.

20km TRAPSGEWYS

Trapsgewys is an easy 20km route that includes tar and gravel road.  This one is great for the novice rider, and is great if you want to join with a group of riders from different fitness levels.  This route differs quite a bit from the Om Die Berg route, and may differ from previous years.  Cyclists are advised to follow road markers.

10km PRETTRAP

A fun ride for beginners and juniors.  This is on a farm gravel road, and will mostly be the same route as the 10km fun run.  The 10km is a 5km route with a turnaround point.
