The legendary Pineapple Express Trail Run is back, bringing the heat as the Official Trail Run of the KZN South Coast returns in 2026. 

Set for the 15^th of August 2026, this iconic coastal event promises adrenaline, adventure, and unforgettable coastal views. Runners can take on three epic distances – 30km, 21km, and 12km – each packed with thrilling terrain and scenic beauty. 

The Pineapple Express Trail Run is where wild coastal trails meet untamed beach adventures! Race along the beach from Ramsgate to the Wild Coast Sun, taking on trails, rocky points, flowing rivers and the formidable tides, this isn’t just a race — it’s a tropical trail-running experience like no other!

In an exciting partnership, the Wild Coast Sun steps in as the ultimate host, offering race registration, top-class accommodation, and a vibrant prize-giving experience in the dunes. Get ready to chase the trail, feel the vibe, and be part of one of the most electrifying races on the KZN Trail calendar!

• Race date: Saturday, 15^th August 2026.
• Registration: Wild Coast Sun, Mtunvuma Room, Friday the 14^th August, 1pm to 6pm.
• Race starts: 30km – Ramsgate Beach/ 21km – Trafalgar Beach – 12km Glenmore Beach.

Start Times:

• Wave Warrior : 30km - 6:30am – Ramsgate Beach (Min Age 21yrs)
• Tide-Breaker : 21km – 7am – Trafalgar Beach (Min Age 16yrs)
• Coastal Cruz : 12km – 7:30am – Glenmore Beach (Min Age 10yrs)

What athletes get: 

• Every 30km and 21km Runner gets a custom designed Dry-Fit Race t-shirt, PLUS loads of other great goodies in an exciting goodie bag valued at R750.00
• Every 12km Runner gets a custom designed Dry-Fit Race t-shirt and an exciting goodie bag valued at R450.00

Entry Fees and Dates: 

• Early Bird Entries available from 14^th May until 16^th June.
• Standard entries open 17^th June and close on the 22^nd of July
• Late entries open 23^rd July until Friday the 12^th of August. (No Race apparel or Goodie bag)

Water Tables: 

There will be 3 Water tables on the route. (3 for the 30km / 2 for the 21km / 1 for the 12km)

Water Table stock:

• 32Gi Endure in 25lt drums to refill your Hydration packs.
• Water to refill your Hydration packs.
• 32Gi Gels and other 32Gi Goodies
• Bananas
• Biscuits
• Muffins
• Water tables are cup-less, please bring your own cup of refill or refill your hydration pack.

Please remember to bring your own hydration and nutrition, the water tables should be used as back up only.
