Stay fit with our Winter Walking Weekend
Training for a long-distance walk? Searching for a reason to stay fit during winter? Looking for a
reason to visit St Francis in Winter? Why not join the second St Francis Walking Weekend from
Friday 26 to Sunday 28 June 2026.
Three distances will be walked on Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and Sunday morning. It is
not a race, there will be no winners but to ensure safety, you will have to finish before a certain
time.
On Friday 26 June from 15h30 we will enjoy a circular 5km walk from Port St Francis along sections
of the Two Harbours Walk and the streets of Santareme. Number collection will be from 15h00 at
Quaysyde, Port St Francis. The entry fee is R50 and route briefing will be at 15h30. Please bring a
headlamp or torch in case you finish after dark.
On Saturday morning we walk from St Francis Bay to Jeffreys Bay. The 18km route starts at Tony’s
Deli in Sea Glades Drive, St Francis and ends at Tasty Tables on main beach in Jeffreys Bay.
Walk towards Canal Road into Shore Road and left to the Cove for a river crossing by barge. From
there you follow the coastline past Paradise Beach where you can stop for a cup of coffee or soft
serve at the Paradise Beach Neighbourhood Watch coffee shop. The finish is at Tasty Tables at
Jeffreys Bay main beach.
Shuttles can be privately organised through JBay Cabs (083 6111 003) or Simpiwe’s Shuttles (083
957 1331).
Number collection will be from 07h00, the briefing is at 07h20 and walkers can set off at 07h30.
Your allocated time to finish is 12h30 (try and beat the tide!). Please note there will be no water
points along the way, and walkers must be self-sufficient. The entry fee is R250 which includes the
river crossing.
On Sunday morning walkers once again our walk starts at Port St Francis, this time from Bella’s
Kitchen. Everyone will start on Squid Square and walk via Shark Point to the Cape St Francis
beach. You can choose to stop at the Cape St Francis Resort (5,5km), or continue towards the Seal
Point Lighthouse (and stop for coffee) before you continue to Sunset Rock. Here you will turn
inland and walk through the Irma Booysen Floral Reserve to the Cape St Francis Resort. If the
Sunday roast and live music suits you, you can call it a day at 10km or walk through the Resort,
back onto the beach and through the Seal Point Nature Reserve to reach Bella’s again at 14km
Number collection will be from 07h30 and briefing at 07h45 to start walking at 08h00. The entry
fee is R140 and the allocated finishing time is 12h00.
Online entries are available from 25 May 2026 on EntryNinja. All routes will be well marked.
Roaming marshals and Traffic Officials will be on the route.
