Welcome to THE ODYSSEY, a premier endurance event designed as the ultimate test for the serious mountain biker. Staged on Saturday, 23 January 2027, its timing is no accident. It's a perfect full-gas shakedown for the marathon MTB season, but you don't need a major stage race entry to be here. This is a standalone challenge for any rider ready to measure themselves against a truly world-class course.

THE ODYSSEY | 120km 

This is more than just a race — it's a rare opportunity. The route carves a relentless path through the heart of the Kogelberg Biosphere, South Africa's first UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. You will climb over 2,500m across unforgiving gradients and descend on pristine, exclusive trails opened to riders for one day only.

Whether you're testing a partnership in the Team category or taking on the beast solo, THE ODYSSEY will demand your respect and reward you with an unparalleled sense of achievement.

E ODYSSEY | 70km 

South Africa's first dedicated E-bike marathon race ... on one battery! The E ODYSSEY takes on the heart of THE ODYSSEY as a true test of endurance for both rider and machine. You'll cover 70km and climb roughly 2,000m, almost all on your own pristine, exclusive Kogelberg trails (some shared with THE ODYSSEY), with the added challenge of managing your power all the way to the line.

This is e-biking as a serious endurance discipline. Pace your effort, trust your machine, and find out how far one charge can take you.

LITE ODYSSEY | 40km 

Not everyone has the time or desire for THE ODYSSEY, but missing out on the iconic MTB trails and being part of the vibe would just not feel right. LITE ODYSSEY offers the soul and spirit of the main event in a concentrated format that will inspire and delight.

Don't let the LITE name fool you. This is a serious and rewarding challenge. Over 40km, you will tackle a formidable 1,000m of climbing on exclusive trails well ahead of THE ODYSSEY riders. It's your chance to experience the raw beauty of the Kogelberg and the incredible race-day atmosphere.
