What is the Alverstone Altitude Rush?

The Alverstone Altitude Rush is a school fundraiser that has grown into one of the Upper Highway's most exciting obstacle course events. Set amongst the breathtaking Alverstone Hills, at Roseway Waldorf School and Alverstone Wildlife Park, this is far more than just another obstacle race.

Expect spectacular scenery, muddy smiles, adrenaline-pumping challenges, and an unforgettable day out for competitors, families, and spectators alike.

Whether you're a seasoned OCR athlete, a weekend warrior, a gym enthusiast, a group of friends looking for a challenge, or a family wanting an adventure together, there's a category designed just for you. Push your limits, encourage your teammates, or simply come along to have fun and make memories.

Entry Options:

• Open Elite Individuals - Age 18 and up, for the more competitive individual in the OCR game. If you are unable to finish an obstacle, then a penalty will be given that will test your endurance, drive and is in lines with the OCR world.
• 
  
• Open Individuals – Age 18 and up, for the competitive individual trying out their strength and wanting to test and push their boundaries. If you are unable to finish an obstacle, then a penalty will be given to test your fitness.

• Junior Elite Individuals - Age 14 - 17, for the younger athletes that compete in OCR events. If you are unable to finish an obstacle, then a penalty will be given to test your endurance, drive and is in lines with the OCR world.

• Junior Individual – Age 14 -17, for the younger athlete that would like to get into OCR events and wants to test their strength and push their boundaries. If you are unable to finish an obstacle, then a penalty will be given to test your fitness.

• Open Teams - Age 18 and up in groups of 4, for the teams that are a little bit serious and a little bit fun. Start together and finish together. If you are unable to finish an obstacle, penalties will be given that will consist of team fitness and drive.

• Junior Teams - Age 12 - 17 in groups of 4, for the young and fun and those ready to test their team drive. Start together and finish together. If you are unable to finish an obstacle, penalties will be given that will consist of team fitness and drive.

• Family Teams - Open to all ages in groups of 4, must include at least 1 adult, for the family ready to test their love, drive and attitudes to challenges. If you are unable to finish an obstacle, penalties will be given that will consist of team fitness and drive.

Times:

Registration and on-the-day ticket sales start at 07:00am (cash and Zapper sales only)

Race times:

Elite Individuals 08:30am

Elite Junior Individuals 08:50am

Open Individuals 09:10am

Junior Individuals 09:30am

Open Teams 10:50am

Junior Teams 11:10am

Family Teams 11:30am

There will be two prize giving: one after all individuals are in and one after all teams are in.

Additional Information:

• All participants can expect to receive a medal on completion of the course.
• Small prizes will be awarded to the top 3 winners of each category.
• There will be a bag drop location should you wish to keep things safe; this will cost R20.00 for bags and R10 for keys (cash or zapper only).
• Please note you may not bring your own food and drinks on the day as there will be food and refreshments for sale.
• No alcohol is allowed.
