Join Hoërskool Montagu (HSM) and the HSM Supporters Club for an unforgettable weekend of adventure, fresh mountain air, and community spirit at the inaugural HSM MTB Boomerang & Trail Run.
Whether you're chasing a podium finish, riding with friends, or simply looking for an epic day outdoors, there's something for everyone. Mountain bikers will have the unique opportunity to ride sections of the world-renowned Absa Cape Epic trails that weave through the spectacular mountains surrounding Montagu.
The MTB Boomerang is a fun and exciting team event where teams of two tackle a challenging 5 km loop, completing as many laps as possible within their allocated time category. It's a true test of endurance, teamwork and strategy—perfect for riders of all ages and abilities.
Trail runners can choose between a scenic 5 km or 10 km single-track route, featuring flowing trails, breathtaking views and well-stocked water points to keep you moving all the way to the finish.
Events start and end at Hoërskool Montagu.
Expect a fantastic atmosphere with great entertainment, delicious food, and plenty of family-friendly fun throughout the day.
Fantastic prizes will be up for grabs in various categories, and every finisher will receive a commemorative medal to celebrate their achievement.

Registrations and Late entries: Friday 18 September 2026 from 16h00 to 18h00 at Montagu High School and on race day from 6h30 to 8h00.
Race briefing: Race briefings will be done 10 min before each race starts.
Prize giving: Saturday, 19 September at 14h00.
