Join us for a very special Eksderde Youth Edition adventure at the foot of the magnificent Outeniqua Mountain Range.

This approximately 8 km hike takes you deep into a beautiful foresty environment filled with lush vegetation, fynbos, mountain scenery and hidden surprises.

Along the way, we'll discover:

🐒 Monkey Swings
🚇 A Secret Tunnel
🏞️ Arch Dam
💦 A Hidden Waterfall
🌿 Beautiful Fynbos & Forest
⛰️ Outeniqua Mountain Scenery

And, of course, there will be plenty of opportunity to have some fun on the swings!

This Special Edition hike has been extended to make space for a very special Eksderde moment.

A special message accompanied by a song will form part of the day — creating a meaningful experience that goes beyond simply walking the trail.

Difficulty: 5/10
Estimated Duration: ±4–5 hours
Fitness Level: Reasonably fit & strong

This is an off-road adventure hike involving uneven terrain and natural forest trails.

Participants should be reasonably fit and strong and comfortable walking on natural, uneven surfaces.

This adventure is ideal for families, young explorers and anyone who enjoys discovering beautiful places off the beaten track.

Please ensure that you have the following with you:

• Suitable lightweight hydration pack, backpack or hip pouch
• Sufficient hydration / bottled water
• Sunscreen
• Hat / headgear
• Suitable non-slip off-road hiking shoes
• Snacks
• Lightweight windproof jacket
• Fleece / mid-layer depending on the weather
• Your own personal emergency items, such as:
  • Bandage
  • Small petroleum jelly
  • Blister plasters
  • Other personal essentials

⚠️ IMPORTANT

Normal sneakers and road-running shoes are NOT suitable for this hike.

The route includes natural, uneven and off-road terrain. Please wear appropriate hiking shoes with good grip.
