Prepare yourself for an extraordinary five-day adventure into the heart of the Cape Fold Mountains.

This expedition brings together two spectacular mountain objectives — Towerkop Peak and Seweweekspoort Peak — with the unique opportunity to spend nights in mountain caves along the route.

Participants can choose their own challenge:

Take on either peak individually, or accept the ultimate challenge and conquer both mountains over the five-day expedition.

THE EXPEDITION

DAY 1 — WEDNESDAY, 23 SEPTEMBER

ARRIVAL IN LADISMITH

Arrival from 14h00

Participants are to make their own accommodation arrangements in Ladismith, should accommodation be required.

A selection of prospective accommodation options in and around Ladismith will be supplied to assist participants with their planning.

DAY 2 — THURSDAY, 24 SEPTEMBER

TOWERKOP SUMMIT

06h00 Start

We set out towards Towerkop Peak.

At the mountain cave, overnight gear will be dropped before we continue towards the summit.

Conquer Towerkop Peak.
Return to the cave.
Spend the night beneath the mountain.

DAY 3 — FRIDAY, 25 SEPTEMBER

DESCENT & RECOVERY

08h00 Start

Descend from Towerkop and return to Ladismith.

Participants continuing for the second peak will have time to recover, rest and prepare for the Seweweekspoort summit.

DAY 4 — SATURDAY, 26 SEPTEMBER

SEWEEKSPOORT SUMMIT

06h00 Start

We head into the mountains towards Seweweekspoort Peak.

At the mountain cave, overnight gear will be dropped before continuing towards the summit.

Conquer Seweweekspoort Peak.
Return to the cave.
Spend the night in the mountains.

DAY 5 — SUNDAY, 27 SEPTEMBER

DESCENT & JOURNEY HOME

08h00 Start

Descend from Seweweekspoort Peak and complete the expedition.

ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation in Ladismith is not included in the expedition fee.

Each participant is responsible for making their own accommodation arrangements in Ladismith, where applicable.

COMMUNICATION & PIN LOCATIONS

All important communication, preparation information and pin locations for each event will be supplied through the Mountain Hiking Adventures communication group.

Participants joining either peak are encouraged to join the group to receive all relevant information and route details.
