Surfski Single (“SSS”) and Surfski Double (“SSD”) - see Note below re Doubles

• Mid Course – 13 km

NOTE  : Doubles can be mixed, or same gender, and no age category.

IMPORTANT RACE INFORMATION

• Registration will be at the Langebaan Yacht Club on Friday 9th Oct from 5pm to 6:30pm, and on Saturday morning from 8am to 11:00am. 
• Collect your “Paddle the Lagoon” key ring momento and goodie bag at Registration.
• Local paddlers and Cape Town paddlers staying overnight on Friday are requested to register on Friday evening
• The Yacht Club Restaurant will be offering a Race Day Special braai after the event
• The various course Starts are planned to commence at 1pm but may be adjusted depending on weather and sea conditions on the day. 
• A race briefing will take place 12:15pm 
• Position results only will be recorded in each category
• Should any paddler wish to withdraw during the course of the race they may do so but should still report to the organisers desk so it can be recorded.
• Should any paddler get into difficulty a support boat who will attend to them and assist as may be necessary.
• ALL paddlers must wear a life-jacket (PFD) – this is COMPULSORY.
• The various race routes may be adjusted and/or shortened for safety reasons depending on conditions leading into the race on the day
• All paddlers must finish through the official Finish posts so that they can be recorded as “klaar”. 
• There will be a Prize Giving and Lucky Draw at the Yacht Club – approx. 5pm
• Should conditions on Race Day, or just prior to race day, be deemed to be unsafe, the next day – Sunday 11^th- is the reserve day
• Parking bays are available on the road above Sandbaai (Lagoon Street), and skis and kayaks can be taken down to the Sandbaai beach prior to race commencement. Security will be on hand.

This is not a CSA sanctioned event – paddlers do not need to be registered
