THE ACROSS THE LAGOON SWIM

IMPORTANT SWIM INFORMATION
- Registration will be at the Shark Shack in Shark Bay on Saturday 28thNov from 5pm to 6pm, and on Sunday morning from 7:30am to 8:30am at the Shark Shack in Shark Bay.
- Collect your “Across the Lagoon” key ring momento.
- Local swimmers and Cape Town swimmers staying overnight on Saturday are requested to register on Saturday evening
- There will be a shuttle bus running from the Shark Bay Shack to Kraalbaai from 7:30am. Only 14 passengers per trip so need to book to get your ride (Alison on 072 615 6625)
- To be Confirmed - There will be a shuttle boat running between the “Paaltjies” (bottom of Alabama Street) and Kraalbaai from 7:30am. Only 19 passengers per trip so need to book to get your ride (Riaan on 064 513 3663)
- The shuttle bus will return your swim bags to the Shark Bay Shack. Please ensure that you have tag with your name on contact number on your bag.
- You should leave a warm clothes bag at the secure location at the Shark Shack for your finish
- The Start is planned for 10:00 am but may be adjusted depending on weather and sea conditions on the day. A swim briefing will take place on the beach at 9:45
- Position results will be recorded but there will be no timing of finishers.
- Should any swimmer wish to withdraw during the course of the swim they may do so by indicating to a support boat who will collect them and take them to the finish.
- ALL Swimmers must wear a brightly coloured swim cap (Orange, Pink, Yellow, Green or Red are recommended)
- Tow Floats are compulsory for this swim (No float No Swim)
- Swimmers may take part in either Skins or Wetsuits, and may use fins or other support devices if they wish.
- Swimmers are permitted to have their own support craft during the swim
- The lagoon water temperatures can range between 13C to 17C
- The swim route may be adjusted and/or shortened for safety reasons depending on conditions leading into the swim and on the day
- All swimmers must finish through the official Finish posts at Shark Bay so that they can be recorded as “klaar”.
- There will be Lucky draw prizes at the Shark Shack after the finish – approx. 12:30pm
