My Road Less Travelled
Let your spirits soar amongst the vultures, climb to the highest point in North west. Captain carrot traditionally the second race in the series will now be the first race in the rabbit series. The 20km route starts off fast and flat with amazing game sightings at approximately 5km you will begin your major climb expect rock scrambling and even the fastest runners will be reduced to a walk and you clamber to the highest point in the northwest. Once you summit you will have some easy running along the ridge of the mountain , most of the time this will be the road less travelled and you will have to rely on the markers to find your way. At the top of the mountain you will have amazing views of buffelspoort dam and haartebeespoort dam. Be on the look out for the ever present vultures. The descent in partly on a tarred road before a sharp turn to the right takes you back into the bush. The 10km route will take you past bush camp and along the small dam before you begin your climb halfway up the mountain. It is a mix of runnable sections and technical difficulty before you have a fast descent back to the finish. The 5km will be halfway up the mountain, a bit of flat running and then a fast descent back to the finish
