Introduction to the Winforce Short Track Series

The Winforce Short Track series offers a brand new, unique and fun filled event for the whole family, from the young ones on pedal bikes, all the way to the fast racing snakes, and everyone in between.

Hosted at a family friendly venue, with A lines for the serious riders, with 2m gap jumps, rock gardens and lots more, and easy flowing single track rideable to any level rider, the course features a 1.5km lap. The Short Course format allows your family and friends to support you and follow you through 90% of the course from any view point.

This event format is aimed bringing the family and friends together to have a lot of fun, whilst in a supporters can follow the riders through their entre race. Fires will be provided for a fun filled social after the event.

After the kiddies races have taken place, the kiddies course will be open for the kiddies to play on.

Route Description:

Trail Run: The Trail Run consists of a 5km route with 95% single trails including bridges, rocky section, winding paths etc. There has been a lot of effort put into the maintenance and building of new routes with the primary focus on making it an experience to remember for all runners.

Showdown: The showdown route consists of a +-1,5km lap with 40m of climbing per lap, which also includes 3 "A" and "B" lines. A rock garden, drop-off and a gap-jump on route will make for some very interesting racing among the racing snakes on the A-lines. Short track is a shortened version of the ever so popular cross-country discipline. The Showdown promises a nail biting finish with a lot of back and forth movement in the field.  

Kiddies Fun Race: The kiddies course is a purposely built only for kiddies who are just starting on balance bikes to slightly more experienced kiddies on pedal bikes. The circuit is a 100m in length with a few obstacles on the course which the kiddies are given an option to take on or choose the alternative route. The course will be open to all kiddies post kiddies races.

Family Challenge: The Mom's & Pop's Challenge route will follow all the "B" lines of the +-1,5km lap for safety purposes. The course is rideable for all levels of riders from Newbies to the experienced .

Additional Info:

Feel free to bring a gazebo, chairs etc. Fires will be lit pre-prize giving for a social bring and braai. Course will be open from Thursday, 24 August to 25 August, for course practice. Alternatively, course will be open on the 26th August from 7am.  

Medical Services:

There will be medics on route as well as at the finish line.
