Finish your year well by participating in the Lomond Open Water Swim taking place on the Sunday of the long weekend in December!

Whilst you are very close to South Africa’s Great White Shark capital, you will be safe while swimming in a beautiful fresh water dam surrounded by vineyards and fynbos valleys. An absolute treat as swimming in this dam is only allowed at this event.

The Lomond Triathlon will be held the day before at the same venue, so why not make a weekend of it and come and enjoy the fun.

There are three distances to choose from: 3km for the serious guys, The Lomond Mile (1.6km) for the adventurers and 500m for the newbies.

There are several accommodation options in Franskraal, Uilenkraalsmond, Pearly Beach, Stanford, Hermanus and more. These areas are however busy during the December season so book your accommodation early. Try Airbnb or Gansbaai Tourism for a few ideas.

There is ample parking close to the venue and lots of food options supplied by vendors. Live music, lots of wine, beer and other refreshments will be available at the venue. Be sure to bring friends and family along to support you while doing this fun challenge.

Distances, Starting Times, Entry Fees:

500m – 09:00 – R70

1 mile – 09:30 – R120

3km – 10:30 – R170

All the swimmers need to wear a brightly coloured Swimming Cap.  If you do not have one, then you can buy one for R20 with your entry.

Participants have the option of purchasing a Bottle of Lomond Wine at a discount on the day.

Registration and late entries at Lomond (Late entries +R30):

14 December:  17:00 – 19:00 - Enjoy a glass of wine while watching the sun set over the dam

16 December:   07:30 – 09:00
