The 19th edition of the Kingfisher MTB and Trail Run, will take place on Saturday, 19 September 2020, at Beyond the Moon Guest Farm, Hoekwil. This is a fundraising initiative of Hoekwil Primary School and the school will once again, have foodstalls for take away meals only.

CSA License - this is a CSA sanctioned event and if a rider is not a current CSA license holder, a day license of R50 is needed for the 28km/40km/60km distances.

e-Bikes

As there will be no prizes or prize-giving we will allow E-bikes, but only on the 60km distance.

Program

A detailed program for batch starts will be available and communicated closer to the event, as we need to know how many entrants there are (limited to 275) and batches only allowed to be 35 riders.

Covid-19 Protocols for event

VERY LOW RISK assessment for COVID-19 exposure;
Control measures in place based on above risk assessment;
A COVID-19 Strategy for the event that will be part of the medical services (Frontiermedix) medical plan;
Health screening processes for staff and workers are in place (completing temperature & info register);
Attendees (riders & supporters) screening process (completing temperature & info register);
Hygiene stations will be available;
Social distancing based on 1.5m between people at all times;
No more than 300 attendees (staff and participants) attending the event and max batch starts of 35;
Contact tracing for all staff, workers and attendees with relevant information attained from register;
We will disinfect the venue prior and post the event;
Masks - have to be worn at all times, except when actively taking part during event

Hoekwil Primary Food Menu

As with Kingfisher tradition, Hoekwil Primary will have the most delicious meals available. A menu will be posted soon, and orders can be placed with your online entry. Please support Hoekwil Primary with this fundraiser by ordering your meals with your online entry.

Accommodation

Beyond the Moon is situated in the foothills of the Outeniqua mountains, in Hoekwil along the Garden Route. The guest farm accommodation provides six self-catering cottages, which is the ideal escape for anyone who is wanting to escape the bustling city life to all the way Beyond the Moon. Accommodation is available during Kingfisher event.
