The Metric Century

The route takes in roads

The route takes in roads south-east of the Circus Coffee Shop, with +/- 750m of elevation gain1 over the 100Km2 route, aka the Metric Century. Road surfaces are mostly excellent on the latter sections of the route. The course is an out-and-back route, where riders will be able to see their competitors at some points along the route.

Shown below, the route has a total of 6 left turns, 6 right turns and one u-turn. Marshals will be placed at all 15 intersections, as well as the only 4-way intersections on the route. Riders will be expected to obey all traffic rules on the day, including having to stop at intersections, if instructed by the marshals (safety is our first priority).

  • 4 Water points on the route, plus the final water point at the finish:
    • Outward leg at 18Km, 44Km;
    • On the return leg at 56Km and 82Km.
  • All participants will receive a medal/trophy with their team race pack, and not individually as they complete the event.
