We will be hiking the high five trails just outside Machadodorp.  30km's in total. Approx. 10km per day.

The stunning High Five Trails, upgraded Green Flag Trail, traverses four different private farms between Machadodorp and Badplaas in Mpumalanga. It is situated on the lip of the escarpment overlooking the Komati Valley and in the heart of the Skurwerberg Mountains. There is an array of breath-taking landscapes to navigate along the route, including open escarpment, yellow-wood forests, kloofs and sandstone formations. In addition, hikers will enjoy spotting the abundance of wildlife, birds, indigenous trees and flowing waterfalls. The trail can be demanding at times with steep ascents and descents, swing bridges and ladders to climb.

Arrive Early by 8am on Day One at Pongola Camp - 20km Outside Machadodorp - 3 Hours from GP

Friday - Day 1: Start 8.30am - Pongola Express to Aloe Kaya hikers follow The Bergbas Route – 8km

Saturday - Day 2: Start 8am - Hikers follow the Escarpment Routs / Oom Pauls route (4km) joining The Pom-pon Way, (4.5km) to Candle Falls, covering a total distance of 8.5km.

Sunday - Day 3: Start 8am - Hikers follow the Pom-pon Way, 8.3km back to Pongola Express where you will depart.
