Affordable Outdoor
Make sure your lights are charged up because you are going to need them. Join us for the last supermoon of the year, and let's see how many laps of the Coetzenburg XCO track you can do in the dark.
The race will take place on a very lightly modified (for safety) version of the UCI XCO World Cup track at Coetzenburg. The 4.4km loop, with 186m of climbing, switchbacks and tricky descents is a worthy challenge for the world's best riders in the daytime, but it is a whole different experience after dark.
For logistical and safety purposes, this event is forced to limit the number of entries, so make sure you get your entry in early to avoid disappointment.
Cost: R100.00/Rider (Includes a burger and a beer/soft drink at the finish)
Event Format: This event is an endurance lap race (working on a 2 hours + 1 Lap format). The winner will be the rider with the most laps completed in a 2-hour window, as well as the fastest time for their final lap. There will be a bunch start, with all riders starting together at exactly 18:00. Each lap completed before 20:00 will count towards your total laps. At 20:00, the stopwatch will start. You will complete the lap that you are on at 20:00 and will be given a final position based on the number of laps+time after 20:00 you took to complete your final lap (if you had crossed the start/finish line before the 20:00 cut-off)
IE:
1st Place: 7 laps + 4m32s
2nd Place: 7 laps + 8m12s
3rd Place: 6 laps+ 3m4s
4th Place: 6 Laps+ 7m9s
5th Place: 5 Laps+14m36s
Program:
Registration will be open on the day from 14:30.
From 15:00-17:30, the track will be open to registered riders for practice/sighting laps
Riders briefing will take place at 17:50
Start promptly at 18:00
Prize Giving at 20:45
Snacks and refreshments will be on sale from 15:00-22:00 at the start-finish area.

Minimum requirement of at least one forward facing white/yellow light, and one rear-facing red light with flashing function. Helmet-mounted/headlamps are also recommended. Obviously also, no helmet-no ride. E-Bikes are allowed, but will not be considered for prizes
