Run, Stumble and Crawl through the Iconic Cederberg Wilderness, set against dramatic mountains and fiery red rock formations. This is a weekend adventure to enjoy in the mountains with friends and family. 

Exciting Evolution for 2024. 

All races Start and Finish at Race Base - Sanddrif

100km – The original, tough and gnarly mountain run, you will see stars!

60km – New route, starting and finishing at Sanddrif, this is the day run option. Cracks, Arch, Cross and a lot of rocks.

50km – Night Run. New route, similar to the 60km, starting and finishing at Sanddrif.

NEW! to 100km - 2 Starts. 100km Adventure Runners head out on Friday afternoon, into the setting sun, aiming to finish on Saturday night (rather than being stressed about Sunday morning cut off). We seed you, based on recent running performances.

100km Elite Competitive Racing Snakes, charge off at 5am on Saturday morning, and try beat sunset at 6pm.

Excluded in your entry is your accommodation and camping. To be booked separately, there are various options available.  


Race Registration & Briefing: 

100km runners are highly advised to arrive at Sanddrift after lunchtime at 4pm on Thursday the 10th at Sanddrif Campsites. Briefing starts at 6pm. 

60km, 50km & 15km runners are highly advised to arrive at Sanddrift after lunchtime. Registration at 4pm on Friday the 11th at Sanddrif Campsites. Briefing starts at 6pm.

Start & Finish at Race Base - Sanddrif Holiday Resort, Cederberg. 

100km Adventurer: Fri, 11 Oct at 3pm 

100km Elite: Sat, 12 Oct at 5am

60km: Sat, 12 Oct at 6am 

50km Night Run: Sat, 12 Oct at 5pm 

15km: Sat, 12 Oct at 11am (Start at Driehoek Farm)

FINAL CUT OFF: 10am Sunday, 13th


Race Info:
There are no refunds. If you cannot take part you must find a substitute for your entry.

Accommodation:

Camping - R750 per night per campsite. 

Cottages - 4 Sleeper: R3000pn, 6 Sleeper: R3500pn, 8 Sleeper - R4000pn

Trail pack with sufficient capacity for all race kit.
Waterproof jacket
Hydration – 2 litres capacity. This is a make or break item.
Food = nutrition for 16 hours
Base Layer (preferably thermal)

Compulsory gear check will take place during registration. Navigation will be checked, ensure you know how to use your GPS device or Navigational App like AllTrails or GPX viewer. 


Training Tips and Hints:

1) Train like you mean it. The racing will be fun, if the training is hard.

2) Train with a pack. Cederberg Traverse is not about speed work, but diesel engine power.

3) Train in your race gear with full kit, to get used to it and iron out any issues.

4) Run in the dark, on technical tracks (not the road) using head lamp.

 

Directions to Finish venue Sanddrif:         

From Cape Town, take the N7 turn-off on the N1 and, 28 km after Citrusdal, turn right at the Algeria/Cederberg sign. Continue past Algeria and over the Uitkyk Pass (second pass) – about 46 km of gravel road – until you reach Dwarsrivier, home of Cederberg Wines. Total distance from Cape Town: ±250 km; ±3 hours’ drive.
