Fairview Goat Run 2024 promises fun and fitness for a good cause.
Wine lovers and nature enthusiasts can look forward to the 2024 edition of the much-loved Fairview Goat Run and charity event taking place at Fairview Wine Estate on 5 October 2024.
This annual event caters for participants of all ages and fitness levels and offers a 28km, 15km, 8km and 5km trail run along the beautiful and iconic Paarl Mountain, along with a 5km fun walk.
Daniel & Friends - Push forward 5Km R150 (the person pushing the wheelchair or "buggy" do not have to pay or enter)
The Goat Run is committed to donating most of the income to charities in desperate need of financial assistance. Rest assured that your entry fee will contribute to this. AND, you still get the BEST goodie bag ever!
“Trail runners can expect a real treat of a route, climbing out from vineyards onto the fynbos vegetation slopes and upper areas of the Paarl Mountain Nature Reserve. The event caters for all levels of runner, but for the more adventurous “goat runners”, the challenging 15km and 28km options include summiting the striking Paarl Rock.
There will also be a special category, called Daniel and Friends, for other-abled participants of all ages to enjoy a wheelchair-friendly and equally beautiful route on the day. This 5km category includes entry for someone pushing a wheelchair or “buggy”, as well as entry for the other-abled participant.
Prices range between R700 and R250, while the Daniel and Friends category is R150. Participants will receive a goodie bag and T-shirt and Kids up to the age of 8 years walk for free but will not receive a goodie bag.
Spectators and participants can look forward to a number of treats on the day, including music and adorable goat kids, and as always can head to Fairview or the nearby Spice Route for goods that range from wine, cheese and patisserie delicacies to chocolate, biltong and beer.
All sorts of food and drink, including Goats do Roam and Fairview wines and locally brewed beer, will be on offer. The prize giving includes plenty of spot prizes.
