TIMBERCITY KLEIN KAROO BUSINESS RELAY - THURSDAY 7 MARCH 2024!

The annual Timbercity Klein Karoo Business Relay is set to return to the popular Baron van Reedestraat route on 7 March 2024. The event will unfold between Voortrekker Road and Van der Riet Street, commencing at 18:00 in front of the Santa Fe Spur, with the prize-giving ceremony typically concluding by 20:00.

Presented under the banner of Athletics SWD and supported by the Oudtshoorn Chamber of Commerce, the relay invites Oudtshoorn residents to participate as a team in either a walking or running relay. The running category includes six athletes who each run 2km, while the walking category consists of four legs of 2km. Running teams can participate in five categories: Men, Ladies, Mixed (three of each sex), High Schools, and Primary Schools. The walking category is open to four participants of any gender. The entry fee is R25 per participant, with running teams costing R150 and walking teams R100. Businesses, public institutions, families, and friends are all invited to participate in this festive community event.

All participants will receive bronze medals, while the winning teams in each category will be awarded gold medals. There will also be numerous lucky draw prizes up for grabs. As in previous years, there is a “Fancy Dress” prize for the team with the most original costume.

The event is organized by the Klein Karoo Athletics Fund (KKAF), a non-profit organization that creates opportunities for sports participation, develops sports talent, and uses sport to foster and promote new relationships in the Greater Oudtshoorn Community. This year’s Business Relay is once again being presented in collaboration with Jakhals Events.
