Join us for either the Cradock, George, or both peaks! - with an average of 18km out&back and approx 1300m elevation, you'd need to be quite fit&strong - this is a 7 to 10 hour outing with lots of climbing.
What to expect: A beautiful view over George, the Swartberg Mountains and the coast!
We will follow the Witfontein Middle contour route and from there proceed to the saddle between the two peaks. From there the team will split up to conquer their respective peaks. The teams will then merge again once back at the saddle. If you have entered for both peaks, then you will first summit George Peak and then proceed to Cradock Peak.
New friendships, camaraderie and great conversations between fellow hikers.
? Compulsary items: Suitable lightweight hydration-/backpack, sunscreen, hat, trail shoes, snacks & trail food that will keep you fueled, 2l water. Lightweight windproof jacket/fleece, beanie and gloves depending the weather. (We will aim to postpone the hike in the case of rain, but a waterproof jacket might be a handy kit item). Best to always dress in layers. Space blanket, emergency energy bar/trail food, bandage, small petroleum jelly which comes in handy for chafing etc.

Fingerless gloves, hiking poles, buffs, coffee.

| Route information | From York Street in George, turn left onto Langenhoven Rd. At the first roundabout, take the first exit onto Langenhoven Rd/N9/N12. Exit the roundabout. At the 2nd roundabout, take the 2nd exit and stay onto Langenhoven Rd/N9/N12. After 850m, turn right onto Montagu pass. Turn right after 450m onto the Nature Reserve Road (Witfontein Rd). Follow the road up to the parking area at the top of the road. |
