Super Cross Challenge
Sat 6 Apr 2024 @ St Francis Bay, Eastern Cape

Organiser
Riverclub St Francis Bay

The Super Cross race was born from the idea of incorporating the most popular sports of the local cummunities.

The race is designed to cover a distance suitable for 1 hour of each of the four disciplines.

The terrain is incredibly beautiful, and you are guaranteed to leave having experienced the best St Francis Bay has to offer.

The Race is sure to test the hardest of individual competitors tackling all four disciplines as well as a fast and furious team division race.

The Swim will start under the Kromme River Bridge heading to the pumphouse with the outgoing tide this swim is roughly 4km and should take the fastest swimmers around 40-45mins heading into transition 1.The Woodridge Surf Life Saving club in conjunction with the Kouga lifeguards will provide water safety.

The Run will be on the beach heading towards Paradise Beach at which point there will be a turn marker at 5kms heading back to transition 2 which will be at the same point as Transition 1. The outgoing tide allows the runners a nice hard surface to run along.

The Paddle will start at transition 2 at the Pumphouse utilising the St Francis Bay Time Trial route (5kms) this route winds it way through the beautiful canals of St Francis returning to the Pumphouse the route then follows the swim route in reverse heading back to the Kromme River Bridge at this point the paddlers will experience the assistance of the incoming tide. The exit of the paddle will be on the banks of the Kromme at which point the atheletes will make their way back up to the River Club and Transition 3 to collect their bikes.

The Bike route will be a mixture of pain and pleasure leaving River Club you will make your way up and over the dunes and through the Oyster bay area ,riders will enjoy single track jeep track as well as thick sandy areas where depending on the temperature and thickness of the sand you may find yourself on your feet and not your bike.

This race is totally self supported and you will need to carry all your nutrition and fluids with you there will be no assistance from the organisers or seconders. Seconders are there to collect your goods after transition only.
