The gravel road that runs from Riverside towards the R328 is a back road between farms and lodges in the area. This is Blesbok Road and it curves all the way next to the Brandwag River until we cross the low water bridge at the T-junction which runs over the river. Keen fishermen and picnic makers can often be found along the route at the dam. We pass a few farm animals and the Geelbeksvlei area. The main aim of this out&back excursion is to reach the T-junction at the turnaround, but you are welcome to do the 'Half' en turn around earlier! (This option is ideal for a Fun Hike with the children).

Difficulty is rated 4/10, you have to be reasonably fit and able to cover the distance of either the Half (5 - 10km) or the Full (10 - 15km)

It's National braai day! Reservations have been made to accommodate the group at the Holiday Resort for a social gathering and braai, from 11am. Spouses and children are welcome too, you can book extra tickets for the braai under 'Merchandise' on the ticketing system. 

Entry at the resort for all Day visitors is R40p.p., payable at Reception. 

You are welcome to make use of the ablution facilities for a quick shower after the hike.

Campsite nr 1 is close to the swimming pool too and the family is welcome to swim. 

Fire wood, braaibroodjies and salads are supplied. Kindly bring your own meat, drinks, picnic equipment and camping chair.
