Welcome to the Marloth Mountain Meander, a weekend of pure mountainous fun!

The Meander consists of 3 seperate hikes on consecutive days; the Loop, the Circuit and an Out&back.

FRIDAY 

14h00: Welcoming at Bushbuck Cottage (Drop off picnic equipment & camping chair if applicable)

*THE GATE CODE (for access into the Nature Reserve throughout the weekend) are sent out on your confirmation email. Very important to keep this code handy for after hours access through the gate!

14h15: THE LOOP starts, i.e. Plaat loop, an 8km Prologue!

19h00: Supper is served (at the gathering area).

SATURDAY: 

4:45am Meet up

5am THE CIRCUIT starts. This route takes us via Twaalfuurkop, Elfuurkop and Tienuurkop in a clockwise direction from where we'll tackle the decent down pass Wamakersbos. We'll then summit Skurwekop and Galgkop to include a total of 5 peaks in THE CIRCUIT excursion of pure mountain bliss, before we find our way back to the start!

Day 2 is a long day out in the mountains. You have to be fully self supported with enough macronutrients for 10 to 12 strenuous hours in the mountains. You will need at least 2l water (or more) and something with substance, for lunch.

SUNDAY

7h00am: OUT&BACK Duiwelsbos Waterfall 3,8km Family Friendly Morning freshner! 

8h30 Buffet Breakfast 

10am Departure

***All meal tickets can be obtained under 'merchandise' on the ticketing system. (Cater for your and your family's own drinks and coffee).

VERY IMPORTANT: Bring your own picnic equipment (plate, glass & utensils) and a camping chair to every meal. You can also let us keep these at the gathering area for you for the weekend and we will wash it up to have it ready for your next meal. (Drop these off on Friday before the Loop starts and remember to collect it on Sunday after breakfast). 

Your entry/ies EXCLUDES ACCOMMODATION - (The reserve unfortunately had very limited accommodation facilities). There's an array of overnight accommodation available in and around Swellendam, to suit each budget. 

All day permits for the Marloth Mountain Meander are INCLUSIVE.

Suitable lightweight hydration-/backpack, sunscreen, hat, proper trail shoes, snacks, enough water. Lightweight windproof jacket/fleece, beanie and gloves depending the weather. A waterproof jacket might be a handy kit item. Always dress in layers.
