Apple Pie Big 3 Adventure Festival 14 December.
The Apple Pie Big 3 gives you a choice of either a swim, mountain bike or trail run or for the very adventurous...ALL 3! Each event is run separately and spread out throughout the day to allow athletes who want to do all 3 events to finish one and then get ready for the next.
This race is designed for fun and adventure so it is aimed at the whole family, beginners and pros alike.
Venue and Hosts
Our hosts are the amazing Elgin Grabouw Country Club, Peregrine Farmstall and Trail's End. Book your pre- and post-event accommodation at Trail's End Bike Hotel and show them your proof of entry to qualify for discount. Peregrine Farmstall will provide...apple pies to all finishers!
The drive from Cape Town or Worcester takes approximately 60 minutes whilst the trip from Somerset West, Gordon’s Bay and Hermanus will take approximately 35 minutes.
How it works
We are hosting an open water mile swim, 30km mountain bike on the Grabouw Forest Trails and a 12km trail run all on the same day. We have spaced them out over the day to allow someone to do all 3.
Big 3 can be solo or a relay team where each member of the team does a different event i.e either swim, bike or run. This is perfect where the family can make a team and race your family rivals!
Entries
Entries close at midnights on 30 November.
Note: Unpaid entries will automatically be deleted after 2 days.
Registration
Sunday 14 December from 6:00am at the Dragonfly Tri gazebo at Elgin Grabouw Country Club.
Start Times
7:30 - Swim (all swim only and Big 3 athletes start together)
8:45 - MTB (all MTB only and Big 3 athletes start together)
9:15 - Trail Run (Trail run only athletes)
12:00 - Big 3 athletes have until 12:00 to start their run leg.
Prize Giving
Prize giving and podium presentation will take place once all categories have finished.
Please note, you have to be at prize giving to collect your podium prize or lucky draw prize. If you are not at prize giving you forfeit your prize.
