Ready to wine down and take in the breath taking views from Capaia Wines?
As summer starts to creep in and the year draws to a close, we invite you to wine down with us for a guided Sunset Hike on the grounds of the stunning Capaia Wines and enjoy wine tasting and cheese boards after.
What to expect on the evening
Join us for an evening hike on the stunning trails of Capaia Wines, before returning to the Mariella's restaurant for a tasting of the award winning Capaia wines and a delicious cheese board.
Mariella's has a seating capacity of 80 people and you are also welcome to bring blankets and sit on the grass and take in the stunning views.
Route
We will start the 5km hike on the grass in front of the Mariella's restaurant, making our way up the trails towards the viewing deck where we will stop to appreciate they views before returning back the Mariella's past the wine cellars.
Registration
From 17:00 (at Capaia)
Start Time
The Hike will start at 18:00 sharp. No latecomers will be allowed to hike alone.
Briefing: 5 minutes before the start of the hike.
Important Notice!
Bring closed comfortable shoes, water bottle, headlamp / torch & a warm jacket as it gets cold after dark.
Please note that you will need to keep all your trash with you - NO littering.
NO smoking or fires are allowed on the mountain as it is a high wildfire risk. Anyone caught littering or smoking will receive a R500 fine and will be escorted off the premises.

Are pets allowed? - This venue is not pet friendly, please do not bring your animals with.
Is there an option to be driven to the top? - We are unable to lift anyone to the viewing deck.
Will there be medals? - No we will not be handing out finisher medals at this event.
Will there be luck draw prizes? - No we will not have lucky draw prizes at this event.

| Route information | Directions from Cape Town: Directions from Stellenbosch: Take the R304 towards Klipheuwel / Malmesbury. Turn left for Klipheuwel. Turn right (still on the R304) just after Klipheuwel. Continue on this road towards Philadelphia. You will go over a single-lane bridge, up a little hill and just over the hill, turn left onto the Old Malmesbury Road. Follow this road until you turn right onto the Botterberg gravel road. |
