The drive from Cape Town or Worcester takes approximately 60 minutes whilst the trip from Somerset West, Gordon’s Bay and Hermanus will take approximately 35 minutes.
Race Format
Run or ride as many laps as you can in 24 hours. The race will start at 12 noon on Saturday and continue until 12 noon on Sunday. Only laps COMPLETED BEFORE 12 noon on Sunday will be included.
The race categories include solo, 2-person teams, 4-person teams and 5-8 person social teams. Mixed teams need at least 1 person from the other sex. We have added an Open Bike category for all the mechanical and electrical modes of transport such as eBikes, unicycles, e-unicycles if you dare...
Solo riders can decide if they race non-stop or take breaks. Teams can decide how many laps each member does and can change the team order throughout the race. There will be a holding pen where team member can hand over to the next team member.

Braai allowed but - NO WOOD ALLOWED
You are welcome to braai with gas fires such as the good old "skottel" and a charcoal fueled Webber.
NO EXTERNAL WOOD ALLOWED. The threat of shothole borer beetles would be disastrous for the orchards. Wood will be confiscated at the gate. Security will also conduct continuous patrols and confiscate wood during patrols.
Please respect the livelihood of our host and let's avoid a potential catastrophic spread of borer beetles throughout the orchards.
The farm manager will set up a fire pit with treated wood from the farm for the cold evening.
Kids Zone
There will be a Kids Zone manned by a registered au pair that will sign children in and out and keep them busy and entertained while you ride. This service will only be available during day time and no overnight facilities are available. There is an hourly rate and if you pre-register your children for several hours there is a discounted rate. You can email [email protected] to pre-register your children.
PIMP YOUR ENTRY:
VIP Camping Sites
Standard camping sites are included in your entry with no limit to the number of support crew. If you want to camp on the soccer field closer to the action you can buy a VIP camping site ticket. There are NO CARS allowed on the soccer field. You can park in the tar road next to the soccer field and carry your camping gear to a spot of your choice. First come first serve. You are allowed to sleep and braai in the VIP Camping area.
Pit Zone Sites
For the serious participants wanting to go through the night, we are selling 3m x 3m Pit Zone sites where you can set up a gazebo and have your Pit Crew stationed. You are not allowed to sleep or braai in the pit zone. Crews typically bring their own food, mechanic and camping chairs. We do recommend bringing a blanket for the participant to sit under when refueling at night.
Spitbraai & Wine Sales
There will be a spitbraai going on Saturday evening with wine sales from Oak Valley. There will be tickets on sale on Saturday 28 March unless it has been sold out.
If a participant buys and uses a spitbraai ticket...they will receive one bonus lap added to their total to make sure no one misses out while enjoying some well-earned food. But don’t get any clever ideas—only one bonus lap will be awarded per participant, and only if the spitbraai is actually enjoyed at the Bedouin tent.
