Start: 11H00, 24 September, Venterskroon Inn
Container System: Each rider gets two 10L containers for extra gear (batteries, warm clothing, gels, etc.), collected and packed between 8:00 - 10:00 on race day at Venterskroon Inn.
Containers will be transported to Race Villages and Returned Friday morning 08H00
Charging Station: Available at Race Village 2 & Race Village 3
- Bike wash & lube: Race Village 2 & Race Village 3
Route: Follows the Vaal River and traverses the scenic, quiet gravel roads of the Free State
NO OUTSIDE SUPPORT ALLOWED OUTSIDE RACE VILLAGES AND WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION

2 EXTRA WATER POINTS WILL BE ADDED IF ITS ABOVE 32 DEGREES ON RACE DAY
General Rules
Race Duration: Riders must complete the full 511km within 48 hours.
Start & Finish: Official start time is 11H00 on 24 September at Venterskroon Inn.
Mandatory Gear: Riders must carry essential equipment (Lights, 2L Camel pack, GPS, first aid ( Provided ), emergency blanket, basic repair kit & fully charged cell phone).
Rider Containers: Each rider gets two 40L containers for personal supplies—must be packed from 9:00 - 11:00 on race day. Containers will be transported to race villages and will be returned Friday morning 08H00
Navigation & Tracking
GPS Device: Riders must have a functioning GPS device.
Route Compliance: Riders must follow the designated route at all times—no shortcuts or deviations.
Support & Race Villages
Water Points: Riders can refill at any of the seven fully stocked water points & 3 Race Villages.
Rest Stops: Race Village 2 & 3 (Edenville) allow optional sleep/rest breaks.
Mechanical Assistance: Limited repair support at Race Villages.
Food & Nutrition: Riders must manage their nutrition throughout the race.
Race Ethics & Conduct
No Outside Assistance: Riders must be fully self-supported—no personal support crews outside designated villages and water points.
Respect for Nature & Communities: No littering, damage to property, or disruptive behavior.
Fair Competition: Respect follow riders.
Safety & Emergency
Emergency Protocol: Riders must report injuries or stranded riders immediately. Emergency number 063 686 7315
Cutoff Times: 48 Hours
Withdrawals: Any rider who cannot continue must report to the nearest race village.
Penalties & Disqualification
Rule Violations: Breaking key rules may lead to time penalties or disqualification.
Official Decisions: Race officials will make final decisions on disputes or technical issues.
