TOUR ITINERY

Day 1: Arrival at Potberg Hut

• Afternoon: Arrive at Potberg Hut, check in, and settle into your accommodations. Enjoy a welcome briefing from your guide, who will provide an overview of the trail and safety information.
• Dinner at Potberg provided by your guide
  

Day 2: Potberg to Cupidoskraal hut (15,5km)

• Morning: After Breakfast, begin your hike. This is the toughest stretch of the trail and an early start is recommended. It will take you to the top of Potberg (15,5km) at 611 metres, with breathtaking panoramic views of Swellendam in the north, Cape Infanta in the east and Cape Agulhas in the west. You will also have a good chance of sighting the rare Cape vulture. The trail descends towards Cupidoskraal.
• Lunch: Enjoy a packed lunch along the trail, with scenic spots to take a break and appreciate the coastal views.
• Evening: Arrive at Cupidoskraal Hut, where a delicious dinner awaits. After dinner, relax and enjoy the sounds of the ocean.

Day 3: Cupidoskraal Hut to Noetsie (15,2km)

• Morning: Start your day with a nutritious breakfast at Cupidoskraal Hut. Afterward, prepare for the hike to Noetsie hut
• Lunch: Enjoy a packed lunch along the trail, with scenic spots to take a break and appreciate the coastal views.
• Afternoon: Continue your hike along the rugged coastline, with opportunities for whale watching. Arrive at Noetsie hut in the late afternoon.
• Evening: Dinner is served at Koppie Alleen, featuring a variety of dishes. Spend the evening relaxing and sharing stories with fellow hikers.

Day 4: Noetsie to Hamerkop hut (8,5km)

• Morning: After breakfast, set out for Hamerkop hut. This section of the trail takes you through diverse ecosystems.
• Lunch: A picnic lunch is provided along the way, allowing you to enjoy the natural surroundings.
• Afternoon: Arrive at Hamerkop hut, where you can explore the area and take in the rich biodiversity.
• Evening: Dinner is served at the De Hoop accommodations, followed by a chance to unwind and reflect on the day’s hike.

Day 5: Hamerkop hut to Vaalkrans hut (10,5km)

• Morning: Enjoy breakfast at Hamerkop hut before embarking on the hike to Vaalkrans Hut. This section features beautiful landscapes and opportunities for wildlife spotting.
• Lunch: A packed lunch is provided, allowing you to enjoy a meal in nature.
• Afternoon: Arrive at Vaalkrans Hut and take some time to relax and explore the surrounding wetlands.
• Evening: Dinner is served at VaalkransHut, featuring local cuisine. Spend the evening enjoying the peaceful environment.

Day 6: Vaalkrans hut Hut to Koppie Alleen (7km)

• Morning: After breakfast, prepare for the final stretch of the trail back to the endpoint (approximately 7 km). This last hike offers a chance to revisit some of your favorite views.
• Lunch: A celebratory lunch is provided at the endpoint, allowing you to reflect on your journey and share experiences with fellow hikers.
• Afternoon: Conclude your adventure, with options for transportation back to your starting point or onward travel arrangements.
