Join us for Breaking Ground @ Imbabali Retreat & Venue 2025 on 11 October! Get ready for an exciting MTB Cycle Race as well as a Trail Run as we explore the stunning landscapes of Imbabali. The race promises an exhilarating mix of fast gravel roads, technical single tracks, rocky descents, water crossings, and breathtaking ridgeline views
- MTB Cycle Race:
- 80km - R550
- 40km - R450
- 20km – R350
- 10km – R250
- Trail Run:
- 10km - R150
- 20km - R250
Event Details:
- Registration opens at 05:00.
- Kick off the day with a bacon & egg roll from our restaurant
Race Start Times:
- 80km MTB Race: 06:30
- 40km MTB Race: 06:45
- 20km MTB Race: 07:00
- 10km MTB Race: 07:15
- 10km & 20km Trail Run: 07:00
Prizes:(Prizegiving will take place once the last contestant has come in)
- Categories – MTB 40 & 80km: Overall Winner, Junior U18, Adults 18–39, Masters 40–49, Veterans 50+
- MTB 10 & 20 km: Overall Winner, respectively
- Trail Run: 10 & 20 km: Overall Winner, respectively
What to Expect:

- Swimming pool access (use at your own risk)
- Kiddies play area
- For the avid golfer, bring your clubs, buy a bucket of balls and try out our driving range
- Gorgeous views and challenging terrain
- Supportive guides and fellow cyclists and runners
- A chance to connect with nature and fellow running or cycling enthusiasts
- On-site ablutions with showers (please bring your own towel and toiletries)
- Coffee & breakfast rolls will be on sale from 05h00. Cash Bar & Restaurant

Imbabali Retreat and Venue, Komnader
| Route information | From Magaliesburg (Approx. 14 km) Head north on Rustenburg Road (R24) for 6.2 km. Turn right onto R560 and travel for 7.8 km. Turn left at the sign PLOT RH27 – IMBABALI RETREAT & VENUE. You will arrive at our top gate. From there, follow the COTTAGE signs on a 350-meter gravel road (suitable for all vehicles) to your accommodation. From Cradlestone Mall (Approx. 38 km) At the Cradlestone Mall intersection, from the N14 Highway, turn right at the Sasol Garage (which will be on your left). Continue straight, passing Pine Haven Hospital on your left. Travel along the N14 until you reach a T-junction, then turn right onto the R563. Pass the Engen Garage on your left and keep right as the road splits. Travel for about 22 km along this road until you reach another T-junction. Turn left onto the R560 and travel for about 4.8 km. Look for the signage PLOT RH27 – IMBABALI RETREAT & VENUE on either side of our fence. Once you are through the top gate, follow the COTTAGE signs for 350 meters of gravel road to your accommodation. From Hartbeespoort (Approx. 35 km) At the 4-way stop intersection in Hartebeespoort, turn onto the R560. Pass the Engen Garage on your left and head towards Hekpoort/Magaliesburg. Travel for 35 km along the R560, and look for the signage PLOT RH27 – IMBABALI RETREAT & VENUE on either side of the fence. After entering the top gate, follow the COTTAGE signs on the 350-meter gravel road to your accommodation. You can also find us on Google Maps under Imbabali Retreat & Venue for easier navigation. |
