🌄 Koranna Getaway Trail Run Festival | 10–12 October 2025

Nestled on the foot of the Magnificent Koranna Mountain, Eastern Free State.

Get ready for a weekend of trail running, adventure, and unforgettable memories at Koranna Getaway – where rugged nature meets pure exhilaration.

We kick things off on Friday, 10 October, with a family-friendly 3km Night Run – a glowing warm-up under the stars to set the vibe. After the run, gather around our roaring bonfires for a traditional South African braai – the perfect start to a weekend of wild-hearted fun.

Saturday runners will be awaken by the Lion roar getting everyone psyched up for the main event
🏃‍♂️ 33km Trail – For the bold and brave, this route combines runnable terrain with challenging climbs, weaving through waterfalls, caves, rivers, and lush forest canopies.
🏞️ 21km & 12km Trails – Ideal for intermediate runners craving scenery and a solid test.
👣 5km Fun Run – A relaxed, scenic option to the waterfall and back.

Expect breath-taking views, untamed trails, and magical natural features around every corner.

Runners finishing will be given a welcoming cheer followed by a hearty koranna pap and wors feast, a taste of tradition – followed by an unforgettable outdoor sokkie dance beneath the stars, surrounded by towering trees and mountain silhouettes.

Sunday wraps up with the ultimate showdown:
🏆 The Jack & Jill Challenge – A fierce sprint up the mountain where winner takes all! With prize money on the line and bragging rights at stake, it’s the perfect way to end the weekend on a high.

⚠️ Important Gear & Age Requirements

All participants must carry the following compulsory gear:

• Hydration pack
• Space Blanket
• Trail Shoes
• Thermal top
• Whistle
• Carrying capacity of 2 Litres water
• Waterproof Jacket with hood
• Gloves
• Extra nutrition
• Fully charged cellphone
• Headlamp
• GPX Navigation device

Gear will be checked at the start line. No gear = no run.

Minimum Age Requirements
• 12km – 12 years
• 21km – 16 years
 • 33km – 18 years

While walking is allowed on all distances, the 33km is recommended for experienced runners only. Walkers are welcome on the 21km, 10km, and 5km routes—just ensure the cut-off times are achievable based on your fitness and the course difficulty.

Cutt offs on the 33km and 21km will be implemented for the safety of runners. Cutt off times will be announced closer towards the race.
