🏖️ Welcome to the Big Bay Surf Challenge – A True Test for the Lifesaving Competitor! 🏊‍♂️🏃‍♀️🚨

Big Bay Surf Lifesaving Club invites you to kick off the season with a bang at the Big Bay Surf Challenge – an exciting, high-energy event designed to shake off the cobwebs and put your pre-season training to the test. Crafted by the Big Bay coaches, this challenge blends endurance, skill, and team spirit for an unforgettable morning of surf lifesaving action.

🕗 Event Start Times:

• Registration: 07:30

• U13 & U14 Nippers, Lifeguards & Masters: 08:30

• Level 2 Nippers (Short Course - starts with 500m run instead of 1km): 08:45

📍Route Description:

• Run: The race begins with a 1km beach run from the Big Bay Clubhouse to Small Bay.

• Transition: Drop your shoes into the bucket station before entering the water.

• Swim: A 400m swim across Small Bay to “Scissors” – the channel where Small Bay meets Big Bay.

• Mali Paddle: Pick up your pre-positioned Malibu boards and paddle approximately 500–600m to Shark Tooth Island.

• Board Finish: Paddle back to the beach in front of the clubhouse.

• Second Run: A 600m run to Calmers Beach Point and back.

• Final Swim: A surf swim to cap off the challenge, finishing in front of the Big Bay clubhouse.

🎉 Post-Event:
After the race, enjoy warm showers, tasty treats from our food stall, and refreshments from the bar (open at permitted times). Stick around for a small prize-giving ceremony and lucky draw as we celebrate everyone's efforts.
