Muratie Trails Marathon – Sunday, 5 October 2025

🌿 An exclusive trail adventure on the slopes of Simonsberg.

Dirtopia Trails at Muratie Wine Estate are renowned for their flowing singletrack — and this Spring trail users are invited to explore beyond the usual borders at the Muratie Trails Marathon.

On 5 October, take on an unforgettable trail challenge through private land, designed by trail-building godfather Meurant Botha, and enjoy the unique charm of one of South Africa’s oldest wine farms.

🚵‍♂️ Mountain Bike Route – 40km

• For intermediate to advanced riders
• Includes 27km of singletrack
• 1600m of elevation gain
• E-bikes welcome (separate category)
• 3 refreshment stations: at 8.5km, 12.5km, and 26km

🏃‍♀️ Trail Run Route – 21km

• For fit, experienced trail runners
• Mostly singletrack with 750m of climbing
• Runners must carry their own hydration as well        
• 2 refreshment stations: at 8.5km and 14km

💰 Entry Fees (Pre-entries only)

• Mountain Bikers: R495 pp
• Trail Runners: R395 pp

This route is a once-off opportunity:
Over 50% of the singletrack is normally closed to the public.
No maps will be released beforehand, and no access to the route is permitted prior to the event.
