Get ready for an unforgettable adventure in the heart of the Western Cape! The Hessequa Adventure Race is back, taking place from 13–15 February 2026 in Riversdal, offering challenges for every level of endurance athlete.
Race Options:
200 km / 36h Extreme Challenge – R2,500 pp
This is the real McCoy, the one that you’ve been waiting for. Many don’t want to race in wet winter weather, but are you ready for some relentless summer heat?
Registration until Friday noon; race starts at 14:00.
Minimum age: 18100 km / 16h Endurance Race – R1,500 pp
You’ve dipped your toes into adventure racing and now you’re ready to take it on and face the music. Get a team together and make memories on the move.
Registration until 20:00 Friday; race briefing after registration; race starts 06:00 Saturday
Minimum age: 1635 km / 6h Adventure Sprint – R750 pp
Local is lekke! You want to experience what adventure racing is about and want to get your feet wet. Come join this treasure hunt and explore with a family member or friend. Registration 07:00–09:00 Saturday; race starts 10:00 Saturday
Minimum age: 12200km Tag Team Challenge – 2 cyclists + 2 runners per team
This is a brand new format, perfect if you’re great with one discipline but not too keen for the other. Split the race according to your strengths and tag team your way to the finish, with some team challenges along the way!
Registration until Friday noon; race starts at 14:00.
Minimum age: 18
Expect rugged terrain, stunning scenery, and a true test of teamwork and resilience. Whether you’re a seasoned adventure racer or tackling your first challenge, there’s a course for you.
