Welcome to the Intro hike of the Stellies Summit Siege weekend: The Bergpad Route for a good taste of Stellenbosch's outdoors! Individuals wanting to take part in this hike as a single event are welcome!

Bergpad Route 4,5km Hike, 135m elevation, 2 hours

This trail is being praised as having “beautiful views” and pleasant natural surroundings along the trail: forest patches, wildflowers / fynbos, and the occasional glimpse of the landscape beyond. 

Plus, one of the top “sights” along the route is the Ertjieskloof Dam / Reservoir, which adds a lovely water-backdrop and photo opportunity!

The loop format, moderate pace, and natural beauty combine to make this trail a great intro hike and to meet the hikers on the Stellies Summit Siege.

Suitable lightweight hydration-/backpack, sunscreen, hat, proper trail shoes, snacks, enough water. Lightweight windproof jacket/fleece, beanie and gloves depending the weather. A waterproof jacket might be a handy kit item. Always dress in layers.
